Presented by Cooks’ World and Pinnacle Wine & Liquor
We’re less than two weeks away from St. Patrick’s Day, which conveniently falls on a Sunday this year, so the Libation Lounge is happy to help you set up for a weekend of happy home cocktailing with an Irish theme.

Today we present a luxurious Irish whiskey and orange liqueur cocktail that will be perfect on St. Patrick’s Day (or any other day of the year)—and I know you’ll want to practice with a copy or two of this one before the wearin’ o’ the green.
The recipe could work with a few Irish whiskey styles and brands, but I’m partial to the full flavor of Irish single pot still whiskeys, and none of those are better than the Redbreast line—a little pricey but worth every penny. I’m calling for Grand Marnier, too, but Cointreau will serve perfectly well, and to stay in step with the other top shelf ingredients, nothing less than a rich Italian sweet vermouth will do.
THE DUBLINER
2 oz Redbreast 12 Year or Lustau Edition
½ oz Grand Marnier
½ oz Vermouth di Torino or Carpano Antica Formula
1 dash Orange bitters
Combine all the ingredients in a mixing glass with plenty of ice, stir for 15-20 seconds until well chilled, and then strain the mix into a chilled coupe or Martini glass. Garnish with a Luxardo Maraschino cherry.
Next week we’ll look at several classic cocktails in which Irish whiskeys or gins work exceptionally well. Keep your eyes open for that!
