Presented by Cooks’ World and Pinnacle Wine & Liquor

This is a refreshing, citrusy cocktail with some bittersweet notes and a lovely color contributed by Campari. The dollop of rich simple syrup is optional, but I think the mix is just a little too tart without it.
For the gin, I stick to high proof (even Navy Strength—57% alcohol by volume) London Dry brands. My go-to for recipes where gin is half or less of the volume is Sipsmith VJOP, but if you want a little less alcohol then Bombay Sapphire or any other good London Dry gin at around 94 proof will also work.
For that matter, if you’re not a gin fan (perish the thought!), try this with your favorite vodka!
JASMINE COCKTAIL
1½ oz Gin (higher proof is better)
¾ oz Freshly squeezed lemon juice
¼ oz Cointreau
¼ oz Campari
⅓ to ½ oz Rich simple syrup (2:1)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with plenty of ice (or one large clear ice rock). Shake until well chilled, then strain the drink into a chilled coupe or Martini glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon zest.
