This drink is really delicious—citrusy, but balanced. Lime juice can overwhelm other ingredients, but this recipe is was spot on. You don’t see brandy and gin together very often, but it really works. For brandy, I prefer a nice (but affordable) French one over the less expensive California brands, but that’s your call.

1 oz Fine brandy
¾ oz London Dry Gin
1 oz Cointreau
¾ oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
Combine ingredients in a shaker ⅔ full of ice and shake until your fingers hurt from the cold. Strain the mix into a chilled stemmer, and garnish with a twist of orange zest.
