This is another in the catalog of New York City borough and neighborhood namesake cocktails and a direct riff on another rye cocktail, the Brooklyn (rye, dry vermouth, maraschino liqueur, and Amer Picon). This version is credited to Michael McIlroy, of New York City’s Milk & Honey, who first served it there in 2006. It calls for sweet vermouth rather than dry and replaces the maraschino and Amer Picon with yellow Chartreuse.
I *may* have bumped up the quantities a little to fill the coupe. What we won’t do for the sake of a photogenic cocktail…
THE GREENPOINT
2 oz Bottled-in-bond rye whiskey (e.g., Rittenhouse)
½ oz Yellow Chartreuse
½ oz Sweet vermouth (e.g., Carpano Antica Formula)
A dash each of Angostura/aromatic bitters and orange bitters
Stir all the ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a twist of orange peel (preferably flamed) or lemon peel if you prefer.

I love the sound of this drink, even as I’m typing early morning. 😁
